As far as I'm concerned, the only problem I may have is if you complain about a driveline vibration, or if a u-joint would go out. As for the rest of the drivetrain, I wouldn,t have a problem. However, without starting a big pi$$ing match. Factory warranty does state any modification may void your warranty! Any decent tech or shop shouldn't do that to you for that modification. Ford is a big company however and if told about it, they can and have in a few instances voided warranty!
I asked my dealer if my warranty would be void if I were to install a 2.5" leveling kit. They mentioned to me that is the same ones they use on their modded trucks sold at the dealership and that it would not void my warranty.
The terms of your warranty are explained in your Owner's Manual. Read it. A tech at a dealership does not have the authority to determine what Ford Motor Company will or will not warranty.
my dealership tried to say it would void my entire drivetrain...then I pointed out they used a leveling block also on a few of the "offroad" upgraded trucks...they quickly shut up about all of it except for ball joint failures
they are quite adamant about the ball joint not being covered...oh well, it's a price I'm willing to pay if need be
I figure if they ever try to say anything, I'll just tell them I bought it from the dealership with the leveling kit already installed..lol (figure it should work since i've yet to bring mine in for any service)
I've put 85,000 miles on my 2004 F-150 since the 2.5 inch lift. No problems whatsoever. No additional tire wear or front end adjustments required. Looka a lot better level.
