I know i can run up to 35's on factory wheels with a 2.5 leveling kit but what size and brand are you running. Any pics would be great. I just purchased a new 07 and it needs real tires.
A lot of the 35" tires out there only measure about 34.3-34.5"s
I have a 04 with a 2" autospring and true 34" super swampers on 17s
Tires are so expensive for 18s I bought 17" wheels and tires for the 17s for the price I would of paid for the 18" tires alone. Now I'm about to sell the 18" wheels for at least $200.
not to bring this back up, but i am a bit fed up with trying to find tires for my truck! Why is it that there are very few options for the 18 inch rims? it seems to me that it is either the stock size or 305 65 18's in bfg at. They seem way too expensive $318/tire. anyways what did you guys end up doing? ive been looking on this almost all day.
By the way 2005 lariat black ext cab 4x4 all stock soo far.

What kind of driving do you do, and what kind of tire are you looking for(A/T, M/T, hwy?)
I bought some 17" wheels and put some tires on them for less than the cost of 18" tires alone, and now I'm going to sell my 18s and get even more money back.
I like all terrain tires, they seem to fit my driving style the most. I ordered bridgestone dueler revos in my stock size of 275 65 18 today for about 200 a piece. really was hoping to get a bit bigger tire than stock cause i plan on putting the 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit on it, but i guess i dont really wanna pay for the darn things. ive had the revos on other trucks and i liked them alot, they dont really make them much bigger though. i dont like the bfg at's had em before and it seems like they just load up in the mud or snow and dont do much of anything. seems like maybe a good idea to ditch the 18's and go for something with more options. how much did you have to give for the 17's? what kind are they?
thanks

I got one set of 17s off of a expedition for $80 that I put a set of off road tires on, and found another set of 17" F150 XLT wheels(regular alloys that look like the 18s, just without the holes) for $100 w/ $80 shipping on ebay(180 total).
Currently on 32x11R17s(265/70R17) which measure out to be the same size tire as the 275/65R18s, and I have the 2" leveling kit. The truck looks great. Paid about $150 per tire.
I figured I would of paid the same for tires and 17" wheels as I would of paid for 18" tires alone, so this way is cheaper(since I will be getting money back for my 18s), and next time I buy tires, I'll already have 17s. I Plan on keeping this truck a long time.
Easiest way to do it is to create a gallery and up load the picture. Once you have done that there will be a link under the picture that says forum codes. Click on it and you will have some links pop up in a seperate window. Copy the one you want and paste it in the reply box... the links will have [img] tags around them.
Dick Cepek and Mickey Thompson both make a 305/60R18 if you wanted to go bigger. I run the 285/65R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers and they have been great so far. I definitely plan to go with one of the above mentioned 305s when these run out unless Nitto comes out with a 305 in an 18 by then.
I like the Revo's as well I just did not liek that they only had a stock size in the 18.
