remodeling-
Hi all, during the course of remodeling the downstairs I have lost my big block book. If any of you have it, or a better memory than me, what do you know about port sizes and chamber size for C4AE-G heads? I have the chance to buy a set from a '64 galaxie. Is anyone running a set of these? Are they desirable in any way? I don't want to trudge out into the salvage yard if they are nothing special. DF

DF, if the heads aren’t wasted, buy them! They are a very desirable casting for performance on a budget, all they need are bigger CJ valves and a little pocket porting. The chamber shape is similar to the CJ and LR along with the taller intake ports too. Sometimes the casting number looks like C4AE-C but it’s really a G.

Barry, the guy wants 100$ for the pair. Seems like a lot to me, but I may have been spoiled by working in a machine shop and getting so many FE parts for next to nothing. Lots of people throw FE stuff away, and the boss usually says if I want it I can have it. I can add the big valves and do the pockets on my own time, are they worth the 100 $ ? DF

I hear you DF on the cheap parts. If they were in good shape, I'd buy them. They've gone for over twice that much on eBay recently. BTW, if he has the 4V carb. heated spacer, those have gone for over $50. What's the world coming to?

BBB it's not obvious that "only the stupid people are breeding"? well in quantity at least or perhaps "there's a sucker born every minute" maybe even a "because of you (not you though) some poor village has lost it's idiot" E-Bay is definitely a sellers market for some stuff (common stuff), and a buyers for others (the rare 6 2barrel manifolds)
