i have noticed that the belts on the motor are starting to squeak and squeal more and more. how can i find out which one it is and how do i go about replacing it? i would also like to know if there are any diy articles on how to change out the 2wd transmission and make it into a 4wd. thanks for your opinions and input

If one is squeeling you might as well replace all of them. Its worth the hassle. What engine and truck do you have? To make a 2wd trans 4wd you need to swap the tail shafts out.
i have a 1986 f150 2wd and i thought about replacing all the belts but didnt know where to start looking to find out which ones i needed.. and about how much am i looking at to do that?
If you replace all the belts on your truck, you'll need a power steering belt, alternator belt, A/C belt, (if you have air conditioning), and a smog pump belt. Depending on your setup, your power steering might have 2 belts. One as a fail-safe in case one breaks. Each belt should only run you about $10 or so.
thanks for the info and i was also wondering where i could find any information on how to replace/repair old body parts on the truck. and also where to look for a lift kit.
