Looking for help to decode vin for a 1070 f-700

Hello.. New to the site,, I have recently purchased from what the title says is a 1979 F-700.. The truck has a cab from a mid 80'700.. From what i have actually found from a little research is it might be a f-500...Looking for help decoding the vin from title..I do not have the actual dash tag #.. The truck is a retired HD wrecker with twin booms... It is also a 4x4. with a IH front axel with lock outs. Truck is powered by a 390 4spd 2 spd transfer case... Frankenstein... Looking to see what the thing began its life as.. and to see what it was powered with..
Thanks
Luke

F10 = F100 2WD

Y = 360 2V

E = Mahwah NJ Assembly Plant.

F51517 = 1969.

The VIN series code of F10 does not decode to "pickup" until 1973.

The VIN engine codes (Y in this case) do not list the HP or RPM or compression ratio.

1948/50 "RATING PLATE" info is not in my 1948/56 Ford fische. Sorry. You'll have to wait for ND to chime in. Or go to the correct board. This would be better. We here are 67/72 trucks.
