Went to the auto yards today but onlyu Pick-n-pull was open. Man, guys that pull parts off that suff are nothing but butchers. They destroy everything just to get a smll part off. lO(
Anyway, only one yard out of 7 was open so stuff was limited. I did find a:
1964 F-250, 8' bed. There was some side molding still on it; left side molding - hood,cawl piece, door piece. right side; hood. door, bed, cab moldings, good grill but very small dent two speed wiper w/no washer,
good instrament cluster housing and gages. (round type * that came in 64 and early 65. glove box door and ash tray. Motor, lower end and front and rear axles look complete.
Here is the warranty plate> F25CP450492 // 128 B F250 L81 F 25 7500 135 3800 44
SO Bill, what does all this mean. 'WATSONVILLE',,,,, Long way to drive if some one wants part, but it there are parts you need,,, maybe not so far. ;o)
Fritz
Watsonville is a short drive when one knows there are goodies there...and sometimes when they don't know...as you are aware.
F25 = F250 2WD
C = 292 2V
P = Twin Cities MN Assembly Plant.
450492 = 1964, assembled September 1963.
128" Wheelbase.
B = Caribbean Turquoise.
F250 2WD, 7,500 lbs. GVWR
L81: L = Medium Green Crush Vinyl & Medium Green Check Stripe Woven Plastic / 81 = 81A Standard Cab.
The side mouldings were an option on all 1963/64's and are very hard to find, cuz no one reproduces them.
1963 Uni's use specific bed mouldings. 1963 'wrong bed' Stylesides use different cab corner and bed mouldings than 1964's. Short/long wheelbase makes a difference. The hood and door mouldings are the same for all 1963/64's.
Can you imagine drivin' this truck from MN to CA with a 4.56-1 axle ratio? Plenty a time for sight seeing, cuz the average speed was prolly 45 MPH.
I can't emagine driving that thing all that way with that rear gear. They must have trailered it. WELL, for anyone looking for those parts, it is at 'Pick-N-Pull' off Dolon rd. in Castroville, CA. I don't think anyone has touched the running gear. Only pulled the wheels.
It does have one thing I think I will be pulling off. It is the 'two **** control that is under the dash that controls some of the heater function. Nice to have a spare.

Welcome to FTE
F10 = F100 2WD
Y = 360 2V
R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.
J56628 = 1970 / 1970 F100/750 serial number range: G30,001-J70,000.
352: 1958/67 Passenger Cars & 1965/67 F100/350's.
How was it determined that the truck has a 352? All 1958/71 FE engine blocks have 352 cast on them, but this means nothing, as it's a foundry mark.
People that are unaware see the cast 352, assume the engine is a 352. It might be, but usually it isn't, as all 1958/76 FE engines were cast as 352's.
All 1965/76 FE engines look exactly the same, casting numbers cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers and are WORTHLESS for ID'ing the engine size or what vehicle the engine came from
352/360's share the same stroke (3.50"), so measuring it is a waste of time. Look for the date code on the block, when decoded, will pin it down some.
Ty, for the information on the VIN number. The owner said the "352" is on the head stamped like you said in your post. So i is not sure what it is after reading your post. How can I tell when I go and look at the motor? Is there a breakdown for the motor block number or a way to tell if it is a 360?

Head with cast 352 doesn't mean diddly-squat, as the same thing applies as to the 352 cast on the block. Heads were cast as 352's, but that doesn't mean when finished were only used in 352's.
