I'm taking my truck in for a few minor issues next week (oil leak, stiction problems). Someone posted a while back that when you hit the speed limiter at 98 MPH, it leaves an overspeed flag in the PCM. I ran my truck 9 laps around Talladega SuperSpeedway back in August, and of course I was hitting the speed limiter all the way around the track.
I haven't disconnected the batteries to clear the PCM because if I have an injector problem other than stiction, I don't want to erase any codes that may be stored. Another reason I don't want to disconnect the batteries is I don't want them to think I am trying to cover-up a tuner as some others do. My truck is bone stock and I have nothing to hide.
So for any of you techs, if and when they plug into the PCM, when they see the overspeed flag, it that a basis for claiming I have induced any potential damage, or could they void my warranty?
Thanks

Ya dont worry, I dont think the over speed is necessarily for the engine. I hit that alot and the engine was not at redline. I think its more to do with tires and driveshaft speed.
