We shipped our 1999 EB expedition to Germany, and have put it out on the autobahns(no speed limit, GREAT). Our problem is that when you go over 70 MPH, you get this annoying chime that won't shut off until you reduce your speed again. Is there any way to shut this darn thing off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I've hung out in Expedition forums and on mailing lists for all but 2 years of the Expedition's existance (only two years I've missed have been '02 &'03). Have never heard of anyone having an over-speed warning system. Is there a light that comes on along with the 'chime'?
I've never heard about this before, but searched around google and it appears it's a feature on the Australian Ford Falcon. Was your Expedition built in the USA, Europe, or some other country?
Its a feature mainly on the Super Duty line but this is a first time I have seen it on Expy. I have rarely seen it enabled on anything but fleet vehicles.
Thanks for all the post, just my luck to have bought something that is so rare, and worth so little. We bought the expy used in Utah, not sure where is was assembled, will have to check that out. again, thanks for the post.
I have a friend who's parents owned a '70's model station wagon we used to take on trips. It had a driver adjustable needle on the speedo that would trigger a buzzer if the set speed were exceeded....never heard of any speed sensor on the Expy.
i have a 1990 F-250 here in Germany, too. And it has the same warning chime always i go faster than 120 km/h. Has anyone a idea how i can disable this chime ?
