Sorry to drag up an old post but im planning a 392 for a 89 F250 and have been tossing the idea of MAF or goin to a mega squirt SD system with wide band O2.
Obviously the Megasquirt is the better option and a custom cluster and aftermarket guages would follow but MAF is potentialy easier and im interested to hear from others experiences.

Boss302man, it really depends on what you plan to do with your rig, what is its main purpose (daily driver, street/strip/offroad, race only, etc...) and of course, how much you're looking to spend.

Well, Its going to be a daily driver type truck i guess. I have a 79 LTD I drive normally but the truck getts a lot of use after winter hauling stuff around.
Im not shure how much money im willing to throw at the project yet but Im not afraid to spend some either.
I'v been talking to people and the general concensous seems to be that If I were to go to a stang setup the stroker would run decent but not all that great. Im not afraid of mega squirt. I know I can handle getting the wireing straight and all but it will take time a pure comitment.

I plan on porting a set of E7s and flowbenching them at work. If they seem decent i'll run them. If not then im looking at jegs, ford and world heads. I do want to try for 87 fuel with this thing. If its gotta be 93 then so be it but I think with my Torque goal at 400-450 ft-lbs it shouldnt be to hard with a 392 but not real easy either. With 4:10 gears my truck spends a lot of time between 2500 and 3000 so thats where im trying to focus my power.
As far as intakes go im still considering milling out a carb intake to acept ford rails and then making an adapter for a big throttle body. Obviously this would be using the megasquirt.
If I went stang i would just run the stock stuff or perhaps one of the rediculously overpriced aftermarket intakes available.
I have conections to engine machineing equipment and some manual mills which will help for custom whatevers along the way.

I guess my real question is what have others done to get their strokers running good?
Im willing to listen to anyone with past experience and input.

Also I found this Ford specific adapter for MegaSquirt. I seems to ease the installation process. I was getting confused with Megasquirt's TFI instructions but this also seems to have the modifications already taken care of. I plan on resurching more.
