E303 vs. F303

So, I have a '95 F150 5.0 RWD with MA and am planing on swaping the stock heads for the GT40s as well as a GT40 Intake. From what I understand the later 5.0 are rollers so I was hoping to run a ford racing cam. I hear too much about the E303 and not enough about the F303. Is there any reason not to use the F303? I was considering a few of the Edelbrock cams as well. I'm looking for a cam that works very well in the lower rpm ranges, because it is a truck and not a strip car. If anyone has opinions to the "best" cam for the application please feel free to share. Thanks

The E303 is a good high performance cam for the 302 ,if thats what your looking for , don't know to much about the F cam , more lift & duration i think, i use the E303 in my truck , works good with MA , better heads & exhaust , your 95 is a roller....Lew

I use the E303 in my truck also. It starts making power at a low RPM which is what you want in a heavy truck

lol yes you do but each year I'm improving her!! As for carfan it all depends on what you're planning on using your truck for when it comes to cam choice

The E303 will have better street manners than the F cam will. I have a B303 in mine and I'm not sure how I'm going to like it daily driving, but if I don't like it then I will just swap to the E303 or a Comp cam and call it a day.

taisa899 and Lew, what do y'all run in the 1/4? wondering if my f-150 or my PSD will keep up with y'all.

Well then you're looking at the wrong cams as these target top end horsepower. But... the 5.0 isn't going to be a TQ monster any way you dress it up so the route to performance with this motor is to put a high flow/high rpm topend on it and gear the axles appropriately.

....Your build is looking good , your PSD sounds like its bad *** , when i first got the truck together i ran it a few times before i put on the nitrous , it ran 14.2 in the 1/4 , when i run it through the 1/4 mile calculater with the nos it comes up 12.7 , so i think i can get at least a low 13 out of it....Lew

Yeah the poor little 302 is too small to make much torque on the bottom end so you gotta take advantage of it's top end power

Hmmm.. My PSD runs right with your truck in the 1/4 on fuel. Not sure what the F-150 will do, but I probably won't put nitrous on it. What nozzles are you using on the nitrous and what kit? dry, wet, direct?

Its an NOS wet kit , im using the fogger nozzles , is a duel systen , one in eack intake tube , duel TB , im using the eddy truck intake so they don't make a spray bar that goes between the upper & lower intake ....

Thank you for your input. I was actually fortunate enough to talk to a guy who knows 302's like the back of his hand. He recommended the B303 over either cam. Unless I wanted to get something a little nicer then he suggested a Comp Cam.
