repercussion's from over carbing usually are, bogging on acceleration, running rich, and poor fuel mileage

but I steal think that you can change the jet's out to a smaller size, and tighten up the secondaries (change the springs) and run it that way, may not be perfect but should be pretty dat gum close. JMHO

or you can sell it and buy something else

Thanks. Now I just need to find an intake. Is there anything special I should keep an eye out for? I saw someone selling a performer. Could there be issues on using a non Holley? It states natural square bore. Is there a possibility it won't allow the carb to match up right? Or are all fout barrel carbs the same bolt pattern to the intake? I know I have a lot of quetions, but asking is the only way for me to learn. That plus trial and error. I would just like to minimize the errors and enjoy the trials.

If the carb's too big, the engine will have reduced power at lower RPM. So when accelerating from a stop the engine won't respond as well as with a smaller carb, until you get up to higher RPMs. It won't hurt the engine, it'll just hurt the performance and possibly the mileage.

the biggest things that you would probably have to look out for are the RPM range and to check for a square bore manifold.

the performer not a bad intake and it's rated from idle to 5500, if the price is right go for it. You can always upgrade later

heres a lint to summit so you can see some different manifolds. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294904152
