Question Engine Block Heater Cord

Does anybody know where I can buy and engine block heater cord for less than $45.00? (OEM Part preferred) The cold weather is getting close.
Thanks for any leads!

They're almost always listed on ebay pretty cheap. Or an IH truck dealer.

Are you sure yours isn't tucked behind the passenger side tow hook? I'd be surprised if a truck made for Wisconsin winters doesn't have one.

I'm with barnbridge here. If you purchased your truck in Wis. then you should have the cord already installed. (one of the ten states that Ford decided would have the heater/cord standard).

I would check to see if it's not tucked away behind the bumper.

I'm also in the market for a new one, last year my block heater was barely working so i'm hoping its just the cord, i ripped the head off and the wires were very corroded, so chances are thats all she was

Do you guys think it is worth it to buy a factory cord with the split loom and all the little deals to snap it into place? Those are like $75 on ebay, or you can just get a plain old cord for like $30 and zip-tie it...

My truck actually took delivery in Michigan. I am too surprised that it did not come with a cord. It came with the block heater cause I can see it and it has no cord. I was told that Ford installs the block heater in the "Cold States" but the cord is extra. Nice huh!
Also when I get a cord do you guys recommend that I smear a little dielectric grease on it? Thanks

I'm in Florida and my truck has one, how could yours not way up there? I had to go hunting for mine. It was stuffed in behind the passenger towhook like barnbridge said.

The block heater is installed in all 6.0L engines, the cord was only installed in "cold" states. I don't remember which ones that is, but I know IL wasn't one. I bought the cord at my local international dealer for $40.20 (part number 1686485).
