2001 Navigator Alignment

I just bought new tires and had the truck aligned. The steering wheel tilts to the left when the car goes straight. When I straighten the steering wheel, the car moves right. I brought it back for realignment and it was improved but the wheel still tilts to the left a little. Is this acceptable or is the alignment still off? If it's off, can someone supply me with the specifications as I do have a copy of the last realignment and can compare it.

If you're driving the vehicle on a nice, straight, level road, let go of the steringwheel, does it go straight, or have an immediate pull either way?
If it gose straight, then the steering wheel just wasn't straightened when the alignment was done. That won't effect you're alignment at all, just cosmetics. Vary difficult to get perfect.

If the vehicle is not pulling, as mentioned, it is just simply steering wheel alignment. Difficult, maybe, but doable and it is annoying. Take it back to the alignment shop and have them do it again.

I used to align wheels on new Camrys at the factory. If you let go of the wheel while traveling on a flat road surface, and the car tracks straight, the alignment is "probably" ok. While your wheel alignment is done they should attach a jig to your steering wheel that locks it in place. What ever position it is in when they align it is the position it will be in when driving straight.

Thanks,

NTB tried 3 times to get the steering wheel straight. They did attach a lock bar to the steering wheel and it still tilted left. I finally took it to a local guy who is known for doing alignments and it's finally straight.
