Edge Evolution Programmer 1997 F-150
okay, i've been looking at programmers for my 97 f150.
some programmers say they are for 97's but most of the features don't work
now i was looking at this edge evolution, but it doesn't break down exactley what it does for each year vehical.
i'm mostley concerned with, does it take out speed limiters and change for larger tires.
does anyone out there have a programmmer for a 97?
or could you point me to another forum where this has been discussed?

The Edge Evolution will work on your truck. It does allow for tire size changes and will allow you to change the rev and speed limiter settings.

What is the big difference in the programming of a 97 or 98 to the 99 and up?
doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but i don't know alot about these programmers anyway.

A couple of the issues with trucks before 1999 are:
1. These companies prioritize their R&D budgets on newer / latest vehicles. Most of them make products for various cars and trucks, so they have just so much $ to spend on development.
2. Many of the older truck PCM's (powertrain control modules) do not have the support needed for after-market products.
It varies with make/model, but this tends to hold true.
