I have a 04 F250 FX4, trailer and snowplow packeage. The 265/75/16 tires look real small. What size tire can I fit under it? I will be plowing with it. Also what is a good riding all weather tire? GOODYEAR, BF's or what?
IMO an LT285/75R16 is the best size to replace the 265 with. The 285 is 33" in diameter and you will have no rubbing issues with the stock suspension set-up.
I have 33's on my SD in my gallery if you want to take a look.
As far as All-Terrain tires go. The BFGoodrich A/T is one of the finest A/T tires on the market.
I would agree with dkf. Look at the black '02 in my gallery...that had 285/75/16 BFG A/T's on it. I can't say enough about the BFG's...I have had tremendous luck with them, and continue to put them on every truck I own. Some guys will swear by Bf's, some Toyo, some GY....it becomes a personal preference I believe. I have gotten an average of 70k out of my BF's, and they have served me quite well in mud, sand, pavement, and central NY snow and ice.
I do have to say the 275/70/17s BFGs that came on my truck are the best OEM tires I have ever had on any new vehicle. I am usually ready to burn them at 20,000 miles.
