In Nomans Land

I want to build a ford SB but I dont know what to go with I need help 302, 351m,351w, or 302 I will be running this truck every day I want good preformance and I want it to perform well when I get with the guys and go muddin so please I am at wits end tell me what the best choise would be thanx

By the way I have a 1981 F-150 4x4 with a straight 6 in it now I want to replace the motor. but not the trany.

why not build the 300-6 they have pretty good hop-up potential http://www.fordsix.com/, but if you intend to do the transplant go for the 351W

Yeah they do, One of the all-around toughest engines I ever owned was a 300-6cyl. You couldn't kill ot with a gun. If you just absolutley want a v-8 the 351W is the one.
