No comparison. Dealer may be on to something.

I disagree with this statement as well. I have the MSD Dashhawk with pre turbo pyrometer and I have no tuner, or chips installed. I also have had the lift, tires, exhaust, and ram air system installed by my dealer before I took delivery and they gauranteed that the truck is 100% covered by warranty (except for the aftermarket parts themselves, they are only covered by their respective warranties). I like modifying my truck, but I have no interest in throwing away 5 years worth of warranty coverage.

Nitrous, as far as your numbers go they do not seem unreasonable to me. I have not checked at 1800 rpm, but here are the numbers in my truck and Dashhawk readout.
RPM 2000
Speed 73mph
Boost 10-11.5psi
EGT 890-910°F

If I can remember I'll try to take a look tonight at what I'm running at 1800rpm.

My angle was to say that most"if you took a poll" would say they do not get guages unless they have a tuner and/or chip. Some obviously do, but I bet there are more people w/ and exhaust and a tuner or chip and no guages at all than ones w/ guages and no tuner.. Just a statement. this dealer must have proof or a decent suspicion to say they will not warranty any work on this truck in reference.

You can call Ford and open a CUDL complaint against this dealer. Ford will call this dealer and investigate this issue because they want all happy customers.

So I've got 3 Fords in the family. An '03 thats my brothers, a 02 7.3 thats my dads. My little bros is not modded in anyway other than an airraid system and it gets up and goes more than mine. He has no gauges other than stock so I cannot get his readings.

LvTitan I thin you may have hit it. Today I paid a little bit more attention to my EGTs. At some point I was running at 650-750 at 70MPH. When I would accelerate (not a passing accelerate but just to maintain speed) it would climb quickly to 850 to 900F. It did at one time on a downward slope see a drop to 400.

WOT from 40 to 80MPH did not exceed 1100F

The gauges are brand new, Autometer ultralight 2's. The EGT tap was a pre-existing setup pre-turbo. That made the install easier.

And if they are, good. I've done nothing wrong nor do I think I should be able to purchase a vehical that was in this state WITHOUT MY KNOWING and being lied too. I specifically did not question the 3/36K because I new it was over, but the 5/100,000 I made apoint to confirm that this vehical was qualified. Now, no cat, modified downpipe, pre-EGT tap, afe intake (like that from the dealer) may make the ingredients for a suspected heavily modded truck.

Owning the truck less than 3 months, 2,000 miles later and I am experiencing the same problem that my OASIS report shows they have been trying to fix months before my purchase. Either way, there tech dept. still needs to warrant the 12/12,000 craftsmanship.

The thing I do not like about that is, the damn thng has 58,000 miles on it and someone very well could have seriously messed it's life expectancy.

I do a lot of towing. I would like to watch my tranny temp, and EGTs for that. I have an OIL temp too but its not setup. May need to buy the billet cap.

Thanks Beerstalker for the reference. That does seem close. I'm sure at 200RPM, there will not huge difference.

Seems to me that if the dealership sold you an emissions illegal truck that they have broken the law in the first place. To deny you service for something the way they sold it.......all I'm going to say.

i doubt a tuner if you arent seeing over 1100 degrees. with stock programming you really gotta load it up to get over 1000 degrees.
even my "lower" power files will get well over 1200 quickly when i step on it.

Exactly. I've seen more than that on older Ford factory programming. If you have a copy of the Oasis and haven't shown it to them then by all means take it with you. Documentation is priceless.

Oh yea, got the Oasis, Bill of Sale, and a note from the first Dealer stating the truck needs to be returned to stock.

I checked last night and my numbers were as follows

RPM 1800
Speed 68mph
Boost 7-8psi
EGT 760-780°F

Your numbers seem very reasonable to me. EGT is a little higher than mine, but I have noticed going up or down any kind of incline can make a big swing in the EGTs.

I'll keep ya up-

Thanks again Beerstalker for taking the time to get numbers for me.

same problem (I think)

I'm new to the diesel and working with a dealer that is difficult. I know they changed the paramaters for the boost as my diesel (not ford) mechanic checked it out. Becuase I'm not mechanically inclined it was explained to me that the boost is set for power right now rather than mileage. The dealer changed it back in May and won't acknowledge they did it but that's when my MPG dropped significantly, I know they did it, and they "know" they did it too. As soon as I get the write up from my NON Ford Motor Co mechanic I'll take it to them and ask for it to be brought back to the original stock specs. That should give me the MPG economy I'm looking for. Since I drive it every day I'd rather see the fuel economy rather than a big boost from the turbo every time I press the accelarator.

In may they checked the boost and also worked on the fuel gauge that was working improperly.

I'm also going through Ford Motor co as I couldn't get anywhere with the dealer. Until I did the mileage comparison from tank to tank I thought the fuel gauge was still off but not I think my truck is just burning more fuel.

I think the big sign on they posted on my forehead was the problem "She's a woman and doesn't know sh*&" was the overall problem. This dealership is the worst I've dealt with.
