35-255-5 Comp cam What springs?

Hey guys I got some e7te heads and a comp cam CCA-35-255-5 cam to go into my 85 5.0 EFI now but i need to know what kinda valve springs I should use? Or better yet guys that have this cam what springs did you go with? I cant get ahold of Comp cams right now and Summit usually shows the springs to match to it but there not giving me any choices?

Yes they do, if you look at the product catalog you'll see a complete list of accessory parts for the camshafts. In this case the 942-16 or 972-16(premium) springs are recommended on P79, the cam is on P78. If you were to print these 2 pages out you would see that the cam and parts are all on the same line.

BTW, that cam is for the 5.8/5.0HO firing order, the 31-255-5 has the native 5.0 truck firing order.

Oh crap cause that cam is already been shipped out! I was told it was the one that I listed. Am I in trouble here or can I change up the firing order?

The truck will run with the 5.8 cam, you just gotta change the plug wires to match it.

There are some who say the injector order doesn't matter because it's batch fire, but there are others that have had a problem with unstable idle with a 5.8 cam in a 5.0, and changing the injector order fixed it.

Yeah I was wondering if you just switch the wires around then it would work. how do you got about changing the injector order?

It involves cutting and soldering wires in the injector harness...

Oh yeah will the stock rocker arms be ok for use with this cam? What are the stock rocker arm's ratio? 1.5?

The stock rocker ratio is 1.6 and they will work with this cam.

That is true, they are non adjustable.
