Hi again all. Well, after reading on here about the lead times on the 08s, and some changes in my financial situation, I decided to go for a used truck. Luckily, the local dealer just got an '06 Lariat V10 F350 in with 6775 miles on it. I drove it Friday morning, and picked it up this afternoon. I can't get over the power this thing has! If anyone reading this is considering moving from a diesel (ANY brand, I've had them all) to a Ford V10 I can easily recommend the truck!
Also, quick question for anyone with a supercab: Do you find varying (read: close) tolerances between the suicide and front doors near the top of the doors? My passenger's side is just about evenly gapped (a little bit closer at the top), but the drivers side is noticeably closer at the top of the doors (probably within a quarter inch or less). I checked the door hinges for any play an there doesn't appear to be any. Is this something I may eventually need to have adjusted?
Rbega the door gaps on the supercabs can vary. I have found some trucks fit better than others and sometimes the drivers side door sticks out on the bottom in front of the rear door. I had the dealer try to adjust one I use to have. The adjustments made the door fit better but I had lots of wind noise. If you don't have wind noise problems I would leave the doors as is.
Nice truck rbegga! I have a crew cab now, but my last truck was an '03 F250 V10 Supercab. I made the same observations as you regarding the rear door gaps. Never really gave me any trouble at all. Enjoy that beast!
My doors also have "varying gaps", but they make zero noise (wind or rattles) and everything is still rock solid after towing my fiver all over the country this year. Having a very dark color makes the gaps not so noticeable!
I have the same rims you do. I just pulled my wheels off today and thoroughly cleaned them front and back. Looks new again!
