I've been looking for a good step by step on the in tank mod (hutch mod) but have only found pics. I have my tank down to replace the old rusted brake lines and want to do this while the tank is down to kill two birds with one stone. Any quick replies would be appreciated.
I just called the CarQuest store and they said they use the same line for brakes as they would for a diesel return line which is aluminized steel. Would this be acceptable for the intank mod?
If you can wait about a week you can order it from www.onlinemetals.com some hydraulic shops have some SS line, just make sure it is thin wall.
I have some extra of the large tube (I think you need 6 inches) I would be happy to send to you at no charge, but the smaller diameter tube I ordered from above and it came in the length that was required.
Thanks for the offer but I already have the tank down for the brake lines so I decided to use the fuel/brake line the car parts store said would work. Hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the butt. Thanks again for the offer it is appreciated.

Nice FTE offer to help out. Rep given.
Edit: Have to spread it around. I don't like that rule.
I used aluminum tube for the pickup and the return. No problems. I followed hutchs webshots for it, then when i was done found guzzles and kicked myself because guzzles was so much simpler.
