I have a 69 F100 with a 360 it runs great the oil pressure is on the l in oil and almost on the H it sounds great has PLENTY of
power it`ll do 100 mph easy I was wondering what heads I have the number is C8AE-H are they good heads and I want to know what my intake is its number is C9AE9425-B also do you think that the oiling mods have been done because of the high oil presure
I seriously doubt that it's had any oiling mods done. Just because it has good oil pressure just means that it's been well maintained and cared for. I've got several early-mid-late 60's trucks with various size engines(330-360-361-390-391) and all have good oil pressure and I know all are unrebuilt, so it just goes to good maintenance. I even have a '75 1 ton truck with a 391 4bbl that shows no oil pressure whatsoever on it's mech gauge and it still runs everyday I turn the key, even in the dead of winter.
Good oil pressure doesn't mean no oiling problems. In fact, high pressure results in part from restrictions in the oiling system. The standard oiling mods remove some of those restrictions, allowing better oil flow, but also resulting in somewhat lower oil pressure. You can have excellent oil pressure and still have an engine failure due to inadequate oiling at the rear-most crank and rod journals.
soo what abought my part numbers what do they mean are they good castings im going to see if the oiling mods have been done
