upgrade alternator on 79 w/ 400

how involved (hard) is it to upgrade to a single wire alt.? like say a powermaster 140amp 1 wire?

If you can make it fit, it will work. Take your old one out, put the new one in, pray your pulley will line up correctly, hook up your ONE wire, call it a day.

if you can swing one the the mounts put the bigger cased 100 amp in. i did this change years back in my ranger former plow truck. you may need to change the plug too.
