ok i have a 97 f-150 4.6 5 speed manual. one of my friends made a point about his mustang. he thinks i will improve power by puting bigger injecters and a ajustible fuel regulator on my truck. and does any know where to get a 10.25 rear end with 3.55 gears with a 9.75 ring gear?? i need one bad the 8.8 made it to182,000 and it taking a **** spiders.. thanks
yes, u can get more power. more fuel equals more power. however you also need an engine that can support it, both low end and top end. you'll also need a reprogrammed computer to compensate for the increased fuel delivery. what i'm getting at is it isn't as easy as just putting high flow injectors in. you have to match the injector flow to what you want, then match the rest of the engine to the injectors. or vise versa.
Check junkyards to a trashed SD w/ the 10.25
You can dump more gas in the engine, but its not going to do anything but hurt your mileage. Unless you get a programmer to adjust the timing and the air fuel ratio to actually use it.
i c well i was kinda thinking that you would have to have a programer and lower end to handle it. hey thank for that if anyone finds a rear axle pm me asap thank.

About the axle, why dont you use a 9.75 rear axle out of a 1997-2003 f-150 with a 5.4? That way it has the same bolt pattern(5x135mm) and is plenty strong for a 4.6. As for the 10.25 axle its 8 lug and the ring gear is 10.25, not 9.75. When the spider gears came apart, did they ruin everything else in the housing? If not just put new spider gears in.
