Hey Graywolf, You come up with some of the best stuff! I posted that picnic get together but it seems that nobudy want's to do that, or no 1 come's to this side of the street, lol or what ever the heck I mean
Yeah GreyWolf:
The country is really unique around here, and the weather is great, low humidity and warm temps year round, perfect place for me to ride my Motorcycle.
I have been all over the state and it never seems to get boring, from Mountains to Deserts to the Canyons, its a great place to live.
I have lived in many places even back in your state, little place called Luttrell Tenn.a little north of Knoxville,I think Kenny Chesney is from there.
Well thats about it for me getting time for bed, catch you guys tomorrow.
Hey is there a differance in a F-1oo and F-150 ?
.........Raven
Oddly enough - I think the F100's were a lot tougher truck.
If you look at the frame under a 150, you'll notice it looks a lot lighter especially towards the back end.
Anyway - 100 is a half ton, 250 is a three quarter ton, and 350 is a one ton. Why the model number changed I really have no idea... Maybe just to put a "50" somewhere in all of them.
OK,well thanks for the info Greywolf seems they just wanted all the series to have a 50 in them.
The guy I bought this one from showed me the paper work where he had engine rebuilt, and heads were ported and polished at same time and oh yeah he had a RV cam installed to give it a little more low end torque, motor now has about 30,000 miles on it since this was done,so should have some good life left in it.
Thats all from this end, hope you have a great weekend
An RV cam is a middle of the road designation. It means it will be a blend of power and mileage advantages. it isn't a street and strip cam by any means, but a good choice because it gives better power without making it slurp fuel like a drunken viking in a beer hall...
Tuning it all to work together might be problematical. I had one in a Torino once, and other than ordinary friends of mine (and methods) were needed to optimise it.
I think it would take a reprogrammable chip to get the most out of it.
Thanks for the good Info Greywolf, this is a 1976 360 motor not sure but dont think it has a chip in it,Truck is running now and seems to be doing fine,I test drove it, so I dont know yet what MPG is going to be like but it will not be used that often,I was thinking with cam and heads ported and polished it should be a little stronger and still not bad for the mpg like say a 460 would.
Anyway I always appreciate your comments...........Raven
Look on the left fenderwell for a six by seven inch box (or close to it). It might not be there, but anything might have been added. If it's there, look for a wiring harness to the distributor from it.
Take the cap off the 'strib. There will be either a set of contact points inside, or a funny looking star with an electronic pickup next to it.
If your distributor has points, it's an early setup. If the star wheel (reluctor) is in there, you probably have an inexpensive eleven dollar box on the fender skirt that combined with the distributor and a coil is called a "DURA SPARK II" ignition.
I hope so - because they are SOOOOO easy to get along with!
