Blow The Dirty Dogs Back To The Midwest. We Have No Gd Money To Build Stadiums. We Need Roads And Bridges Built, Yes You Can Say " The Income From The Team And The Business That Benefit Will Pay For The Roads But I Say To Hell With You And Your Friggin Jackhole Ideas!
Looks like Who Cares? is tied with NO! for the time being.
Something similar happened back in CT with the indian casinos. Basically, they got civil engineering approval to build these huge casino/hotel resort places on the basis that the "additional donated tax" they would give the state and county would make up for the extra load on the roads. In reality, they only paid the property tax on the few acres they bought outside their reservation, all income on the reservation was exempt since they are a sovereign nation, and in the end the area is stuck with ten times the traffic their roads can handle.
In short, my opinion is to let them go, take the money from their getting out of the contract, and what would have been spent to build them a new arena, and FIX THE ROADS! I don't take the boat to Seattle anymore in my truck because of Alaskan Way. The road there is so horrible, I couldn't do more than about 15 on it.
Looks like the courts are making them stay! I think Seattle should keep the team name, have them pay their rent, and send the players, owners and staff packing.
