Rearend went out in my 83 f250 found 2 different axles one is coded C7 on the door but cant find the ratio anywhere and the other one is C9 which I think is 3.55 limited slip but its out of a mid 90s 93 -97 crew cab will it fit with no major headaches? Im wanting the C9 if the ratio is what Ive found on the web(my axle is currently 31 floating rear ) the C7 is not a floating rear(hubs not extended out past rims) any thoughts on this would be appreciated..
Latest update Im not going to be able to get the C9 coded axle so can anyone tell me what is the ratio on a C7 coded axle or am I miss reading the number
latest update...Got the C7 axle from the salvage yard pulled the back off and counted teeth on pinion and ring gear and feed the numbers into a calculator from this web site http://www.differentials.com/calc.html and came up with 3.54 thanks for everybodys input especially Dave S...
