IDM actng up one just do one inj, it will almost always shut down a whole bank or not work at all. If the IDM senses too much current draw it will shut that side down to save itself, sometimes a short in a harness will burn the trace up that controls one side of the IDM and still have on bank go down.
1200, sounds right for a dealer price, seeing as it pays the samwe to replace 1 injector or a whole bank i think its around 5 hours a side, 5 hours at 80 bucks an hour is 400 bucks, then an injector at 350 each from ford puits you up to 750, add the eot sensor, probably 50 bucls from ford we hit the 800 mark, diag is never less then 1.5 hours at ford for a deisel, so now we hit 920, and thats at a nice dealer

didnt get it done at a dealer, i think i should have, probably would have been cheaper but i needed the truck back on the road fast. The price on the bill for the injector was $550... ouch!! i priced it myself through for for $350 I'm pretty sure he charged me for the core and pocketed the money. Needless to say he USED to be a friend, they don't call him ripoff Randy for nothing.
I just learned something also. Thanx bean for the detailed instructions. This serves as your official rep points since this is the only way I can get them to ya. LOL
My truck has injector problems to. It's doing the same thing yours is. It's really starting to **** me off.
Welcome to FTE, Yep, they can tick you off until it's good, then you get one of these on your face when it's right. You should start another thread and describe your symptoms along with a description of the truck. You'll get all the help you need here,.... for free. I'll bet we get it fixed.
okay, I rocked the vc plugs and it acted like it was on the passenger side, kinda hard to tell for sure if the plug was making full contact or half, anyway I pulled the vc and all were pumping oil but the 2nd and 3rd from the front (2nd is the new injector) seemed to be pumping less than the other two. I disconnected the wires one at a time and each time the engine ran rougher. don't really know where to go from here. is it possible that the 2nd and 3rd are firing but not 100%?
The oil is coming out of the spouts, when I just checked it to see what you mentioned, the new injector wasn't firing, I wiggled the wires & it started firing. It's hard for me to tell, when it's idling if it's running right or not, in neutral, I floored it see if it would wind up & it didn't even get to the yellow line. Is this normal rev limiter kicking in or is it still not right? I would drive it down the road but the valve cover is off & I don't want to put it on only to have to take it off again, if there is an easier way.
If each injector is firing , even at an idle, it will make a difference in the way it runs,,If it does not change ,, either the injector is bad , or the wiring leading to it..You can move the injector to another hole & see if the problem follows.....
Hello 4dtough could maybe the clips that hold the plug on the injector be broken? I think someone here asked already but, could the harness under the valve cover be burnt or f?= up?
