I bet that would feel good coming down on my head. I could cut the horizontal run and save a pvc elbow but I am gonna cut where it is easiest for me to work with clearance wise. Only have one good arm at the moment..
Get some help! That pipe is going to weigh a bunch. Make your horizontal cut first, then the vert. If you can't get help. Tie off the vert line so you can ease it down after your sec. cut.

Mr. Miyagi use karate chop and cleanly breaks pipe.

Danielson says holy carp, how you do dat?

Mr. Mayagi says don't know, first time.

However, like before, I'd suggest using a pipe snapper.

Probably take less than a minute or two.

And don't forget to wear gloves and goggles; dust mask optional.

I've used a recip saw with both cheap and good blades. The cheap blades didn't last and just made it harder. A good blade went through it without much trouble. Just don't get in a hurry and force or pinch it and you should be ok. Also used a cutoff wheel on my grinder and it did OK but not as straight a cut. For me I don't like renting plus the time to go get it and bring it back in time, but that is just my pref.
