At this point in time you are probably a good number of weeks away from seeing your truck. Being serialized is just the point when the VIN is assigned and parts are ordered. The truck does not have a build week assigned at this point.

With the 2 week shut down starting on Oct. 8th, I would have to guess that you are atleast 5-7 weeks away from the truck being built, plus delivery time.

How recently did you order your truck?

It usually takes 8-10 weeks. I heard they care closing the plant so I have no idea what impact that will have.

I know this is a little off topic but...

I agree shutting the plant down is bad for business for us FORD customers. However...FORD states that they shut the plant down to save on operational costs. This helps with the 3rd and 4th quarter reports on Wall Street. If they project a gain, then that could propel the stock value UP. Which really FORD needs right now. Anyway...that is why they are closing several plants at different times this 4th quarter.

Subject: Sales numbers

Sep 07 Sep 06 +/- CY 2007 CY 2006 +/-

------------------------------------------------------------

F-Series 56,065 70,822 -20.8 537,211 616,785 -12.9

Silverado 52,480 51,964 5.0 477,859 486,901 -1.9

Ram 30,100 25,081 20.0 276,978 275,225 1.0

Sierra 18,445 17,604 9.0 157,204 159,733 -1.6

Tundra 19,571 12,609 61.4 144,480 91,525 57.9

Titan 5,193 6,073 -11.1 50,959 56,251 -9.4

Mark LT 795 1,203 -33.9 6,653 9,722 -31.6

The F-series sales decline matches the overall Ford numbers of a 20%

drop for US sales.
Just thought some folks would like to see the losses FORD is experiencing...and why the plants are closing for the couple of weeks. FORD is in real trouble...IMO.

I don't know if this helps, but I ordered ordered my Expedition EL Limited 4x4 at the end of August, they gave it a build date of September 25 and a delivery date of October 8th. I picked it up at the dealer yesterday (10/5/07). It is even better than I thought it would be. It drives like a dream. A fitting replacement for my '99 Eddie Bauer Expedition 4x4 with 177,500 miles.
