Dad was there in 47 and the 50th in 97 up until 2002 (RIP pops) with me, i've been to all but 1947 that was before I was born.
We're on Norton's, Matchless's or BMW's of the 40's, 60's and 70's no plastic or "walking grease rags" my dad called Harley riders back in the 60's and 70's.
They made it into a money making Harley cult thing not a gypsy tour which it started as. Now it's become a art street fair with no get this, bikes parked on the main street.
Of course I have a Ford in my Ford!!!! I've spent the last 40 years building Hot Rods, and unfortunately had to put chebbie engines in the majority of them.... I can't complain though, the money was just as good whether it was chebbie powered or Ford powered. But that doesn't mean I though it was the right engine for the truck/car.... As for my own stuff, it's always been Ford powered. Matter of fact, right now I have an '82 Camaro that when done will be powered by a Windsor engine, C-6 tranny, and a 9" rear end. The car is named "PAYBACK".....
The only forgivable morphidization in my opinion is the 426 hemi. It's place in racing and hotrodding history makes it an asset in any build regardless the make.
Other than this one exception, I prefer not to mix makes.

Reason: oops
That's a turkey motor, no comparison that street motor sold to the public vs the NASCAR 426. Sorry boss I have even seen some tough SBC's spank them at the drags.

Ppl seem to have forgotten that the 426 Hemi was late to the party. The original Chrysler Hemi of 1951 was 331 cid, it grew to 392 cid in 1957. 1958 was the last year for the first generation Hemi. Dodge, DeSoto and Imperial also had 1st gen Hemi's, Plymouth didn't.
