All FE engines from the 332 - 428 are big blocks. This block and the 370/429/460 are the only ford blocks considered big blocks by most people. The FE is pretty much exactly like the big block chevy except everything is different and everthing is better. I don't know where you heard us referred to as bowtie people. That is a first for me. Either you are trolling or you know some very dimwhitteed people. Anyways welcome to the FTE. We will be able to tell you absolutely anything you want to know about the FE.

Mike, I am a littled puzzled with your post, and am wondering if you aren't getting some of youe terms confused.
FE is an engine family. FE = Ford Edsel and that engine group was first introduced in 1958. All the FE engines are nearly identical on the outside and include these engine sizes 332, 352, 360, 390, 406, 410, 427, & 428. These engines all have a rounded top bell pattern.
There is the 385 series family, these engines have a taller bell, with a flat top and the two top bolts are about 8" apart. Included in that family are the 351M 351/400M, 429, and 460. Not sure if I missed one.
Then you have what is considered a small block. It has the more modern bell still used today, flat top with the two top bolts about 5" apart. Engines that have that bell pattern include the 240 & 300 I6, 351C, 289, 302, 351W.
Finally bowtie, something for the dogs to pee on, and they aint nothing, just someone pumping gas with his brains knocked out.
