Personally, I would never buy 'refurbished' electronic equipment. Often times people return stuff that has intermittent problems. When a tech bench tests it, it will work so they just repackage it. Our purchasing dept. will take the cheapest price they can get on any commodity item. I had a Cisco AP that would work just fine for a couple of days and then hang. I had to climb about 20 feet to get to it, cycle power and it would be good for a couple more days. After a couple of times doing this I noticed the tiny 'refurbished' sticker on it. It got immediately... recycled.
Thanks for all your replies, but I think I'm going to stay away from this one. Like I said I'm not in that much of a hurry to get a T.V and I don't like taking a chance like that with over $500 so I'll just wait till a great sale comes along.
I just bought a new Vizio 32" LCD from Sams for less than $500. Sears had the same model for the same price. I have had it now for about 3 months. Great pix, no problems so far. jd
Here in Canada the best deals are made during Boxing week sales.
Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and it is the highest retail sales day of the year in Canada.
Boxing week means some store run sales for the whole week.
I knew about the sales but I'm an impatient person/impulse buyer so it gets difficult for me to wait that long for a sale when I want something . With the way things are going for me I won't move on until my new job until mid january so I'll still be working at Canadian Tire around Boxing day and I'll get stuck working that day again (2 years running) so I won't be able to make it to the actual boxing day sale and miss the great deals.

Until I read a recent article I would not have touched a VIZIO...but, the article gave good reviews on their products and the company. If I could remember where I read it I would link it.
