My bad, I've been talking on few diff. threads this weekend. And doing my own thing. I kind of forgot this all started with the brakes, I took it as everything was working. I always thought the brake and turn signal used the same part of the bulb.
Are your 4way flashers working? If not, they are on the same fuse as the brake lights. I just went through inspection last week and had no 4way or brake lights. Tried the fuses and all looked good so had to go home and work on the truck and go back another day. I had busted the trailer light connection some time in the past so thought that was my problem. After sweating, kicking, and cussing (all this with two good arms), I decided to change the fuse just for S&G. Guess what! You couldn't look at the fuse and see it was bad, but the multimeter ( which I was too smart to use in the first place) gave it away.
Your ingnition key wiggling problem sounds more like the switch itself (mounted on the column when you take the steel cover off next to the fuse box) has slid a little or is just loose. Try to keep a cool head.
