thanks in advance!

Gauges cluster = 18 pin
Warning lights cluster = 14.
They really can't be adapted to each other.
Which one was in the truck ..gauges of warning lights ?
There are plenty out there for you to do it right.
If you want to upgrade, you need the complete harness.
gauge cluster swap update
i found my old piece of circuit board. unlike what the junkyard told me (that it would be blue or green), it is a red/pinkish color. 2 rows of 7 copper conductors. part # 06TF-10C956-C1.
i'm still thinking of splicing a 9 pin connector to my wiring loom since these 7 pin units never pop up on ebay. does anyone know the positions/colors of the two wires i'll need to leave off?
if anyone knows any good sources of these gauge clusters, let me know, thanks!

Did you not see posts #12 or #20 in this thread ?
There are 14 pin and 18 pin connectors
Not 7 & 9 .
It will NOT work... they have a different make up in circuitry.
I have a few in my garage.
You need a 14 pin cluster and printed circuit ...for warning lights correct ?
Or an 18 pin wiring harness so you can have gauges ?

looking at my circuit panel and the bits of plastic left, i can see i had the two idiot lights and two gauges...14 pin connector, just like mil1ion said!
thanks to those who have responded; now i know what i'm looking for!

Hi Guys,
I found a 100 mph cluster real cheap. It has the blue circuit and my has the pink / red. Is it possable to swap the circuit panels? if itis do i swap the regulators also? Not really concerned about the high beam light and both have the idiot lights. This is in a 79 F100.
Thanks,
Steve

If I were to try an upgrade from idiot lights to guages, I wouldn't mess around with asking how and trying to switch from 14 to 18 pin connector and what not.....I'd just get some good mechanical gauges since they are more reliable than idiot lights and factory guages and mount them under the dash. JMHO.

Warning lights for Oil Pressure and Temp and Charging.
When oil is so low it can't keep the SU from completely grounding out, the Oil light comes on.
Same for coolant temp light.
Charging light is different
The cluster with warning lights has 14 pin
the gauges cluster has 18 pins and a slightly different wiring for the ammeter.
