Head repair question
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Jan-02 AT 09:14 PM (EST)]I have a head (FE C4AE-G) with a piece of the exhaust flange that broke off. It is broke off from the centerline of the top bolt hole. Is this something that a machine shop can 'rebuild' during a head restoration?

Yes, it can be repaired. You need a shop that can weld cast iron. At my work we heat the part to about 600* and spray powdered cast iron on it. works real well, but you get mighty warm doing it. DF
