Well to start please don't single anyONE person out. that is where it gets started. No offense.

Any way the CCV is on the drivers side Valve cover. What is done in the mod is to take the filter off the VC and turn it around to face the rear. You then hook a 3/4" heater hose to the connection and run it out the rear of the truck or into the exhaust. You then remove the aluminum housing on the intake that the CCV was hooked to and replace it with a short piece of 4" exhaust. You will then need to get the new intake boot (if you don't alredy have it). Check my truck pics in my sig for pics. I would poost but there are a few. If this is not clear let me know and I can help more.

The Aluminum housing you remove and replace with exhaust is very restricting and this allows the air to flow better. Post back or PM me if you want.

This mod is to keep oil out of the intercooler on trucks that have added an intercooler.

I don't have an intercooler yet. I did it just to reduce restriction on the intake and plan for the future intercooler. Check my pics and browse. I am not on my regular computer so it is hard to find what I need so just dig into mine and ask questions. I will take a pic of the restrictive intake later and post so you can see.

No prob man glad to help. You really don't get a feel for how restrictive the CCV is until you hold it in your hand and loook straight thru it.

The main purpose of the CCV mod is to eliminate the oil mist from collecting in the intercooler. The oil gets on the rubber boots and they pop off at inconvenient times. Some do it to smooth out the intake pipe.

Yours may be dirty. Remove it and clean out the steelwool inside the CCV box. Be careful not to loose the little orings on the attaching screw. You might want to get new orings before you start in case you find some that are damaged. Use the link in my signature for part #'s.

Search this site for CCV mod, you will find a lot of info. Here's a CCV discussion going on in the NBS forum:
