I think they are very very very very bad. They cost more than they should, and they don't do anything that a duraspark or pertonics can't do for you already. Why on earth would you want a chevy dizzy in your ford ? Save your money and spend it on something else. If you want to spend your money on ignition, hook up your duraspark dizzy to a MSD or Jacobs or Crane control box. DF

I'm with Dino. I researched and looked at the DUI when I was putting in my ignition and ended up with the MSD set up. For the money, I would seriously go with the MSD system. For less money, I'd just stick with the petronix.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Jan-02 AT 03:05 PM (EST)]Cheverolet technology on my FE. Not a chance. I may as well run a quadrajet and change my name to "the smokin' Rat". Do they make FE valve covers with a bowtie stamped into them? All the chevy guys I know say the stock HEI is only good to about 4500rpm anyway.

I dont know what the deal if it was a chevy it wouldnt fit a ford. My duraspark went out in 79 it was only 3 years old. So i said forget this i had points until a little while ago. Then i switched to pertronics and it burnt out. So now i have a DUI in the mail. So now if something messes up i go and get me a part from the local store same day not wait a week with on order.

Too true, and that part you get will be getting at the parts store will be a chivy part since that is the type of set up a DUI is.

True but i sure couldnt run a .055 gap with any other dizzy i have ever. But I just wonted to not have to worry about my igntion for a little while. I know that those dizzies are fairly good so i just wonted a good stable ignition i would have to worry about. That has always been her problem week ignitions. I was going msd but i have saw a few of them fail and plus so many wires. So im going DUI.

nitrous,
I have to admit I've thought about the DUI
system myself but the thought of Garbage Motors parts
on my Ford turned my stomach.I've got a complete
Duraspark system on one of my 78s that is original
and still works fine.I know its original since
I bought the truck new in Dec. 77.Since you have
a DUI on order then I guess you will run it.It will
solve some of your problems no doubt, easily and
inexpensively. If cheap and easy was the answer
we'd all be driving brand X.Just kidding ,go
for it,but don't expect Ford fans to cheer
you on.
