3speed ID

I'm fairly certain my parts truck has a three speed in it, but the question is which one?
It's a 70 F100, had an FE of some sort, converted to floor shift. It has the top plate with two shift levers on the main case, and the one for reverse further back on the case. The thing is so crapped up right now I can't get any part numbers off it. I am hoping to get this pulled out in the next few days so I can get it id'ed properly.
What other years does this tranny fit?

Ford "303" all synchro three speed. Since you already have a floor shift, you can "upgrade" to the 4 speed od which is probably dimensionally identical if you get lucky. There are a couple of versions, you may want the top shifted unit.

That 3 speed was very good in the day. So good, GM bought them from Ford and that was the 3 gear in many a GM unit.

I'd look for a Mazda 5 speed if you can deal with a juice clutch. Or a ZF if you like.

I'm going with an NP435 in this one, behind a 390. I'm just trying to make sure I properly describe the parts being sold-

It sounds like you have the three speed with overdrive in it now.
The 303 trans only has two shift levers.
The 3 speed with 4th gear as overdrive came out around 78 in trucks with 302 or 300i6.

Excellent point. I missed that on the levers. Yea, a 303 has only two. Either the car 4 speed or the 4 speed OD would have three shift levers.

What kind of shifter is on it?
