OK ya'll , need a little help . When I got my big truck it had no owners manual so I found one on e-bay for a 2003 F350 6.0 and 7.3 diesel so I got it . now here's the deal the manual only shows or speeks of a 6.0 . I have searched the manual over and nothing. I wanted to locate the 2 fuel filters that I was reading about and after noticing it only said 6.0 .and if I really have 7.3 ,and it is stamped on the door plate 7.3, and the title. The one on the frame under the drivers side seat doesn't look anything like the 6.0 and I see nothing on the engine that looks like pictures. Help this ole dummy out.. Oh yea I'm fixin to try the big boy out this week , I'm hooking on to the thirty ft 5th wheel travel trailer and head out to Houma La . about 600mi ,I'm in no hurry and I am kinda nervous
If you have a 7.3 (which it sounds as though you do), there is only one filter that you need to change of the 7.3, it is under the plastic cover marked "Powerstroke" (there are two acorn nuts which hold it in place). Under it you will see a container (#40 below) that the top comes off of with a strap wrench. Drain the fuel bowl first before you put the new filter in and then clean the bowl of debris before you put the new filter on.
There is also a screen at the pickup foot in the fuel tank and, I believe, a screen at the input of the fuel pump. Generally, there won't be a problem with them...
I'd recommend changing the oil, if you are close to a change, before you leave.

Oh yeah I changed oil and filter yesterday and checked front, and rear end ,checked trans and transfer case,I hope I'm ready to go. Got all lights working and brakes
You are not ready to go UNLESS you have checked your brake pads...going is important, stopping is more important with a trailer. You might also want to flush the brake/power-steering system.
so what is the filter on the fram rail below the drivers seat?
It's another filter on the 6.0 engines which came out in 2003. The 6.0 trucks have 2 fuel filters, the 7.3 has only one that's much easier to change. You can also use your oil filter wrench to remove the filter lid.
If your new to the 7.3 you might want to pick up a spare CPS (under $30 at Ford) just in case. It's easy to change and cheap insurance.
One area to watch on these trucks is the raer axle diff. cover. The factory ones have a tendency to rust through after only a few years. After markets are a thicker steel and seem to last. You can also by aftermarket, alumimun, chrome and I have heard stainless steel covers.
quick newbie question, when replacing the fuel filter, how do you drain the fuel bowl and how do you fill it back up again after replacing the filter?? do you then need to bleed the fuel system?
