Twice now in the last two weeks I have noticed after my trucks sets in the garage for a few days it has a small puddle of what looks to be coolant, on the floor under the passangers side toward the rear of the engine. Were should I start looking? It's a 03 CC F250 auto trans.
EGR coolant line at the back of the block passenger side where you can't see it or reach it, almost guaranteed.
Most don't leak when the engine is warm and dribble when cool. The colder it gets the more it will leak, at least mine did. I looked for the leak with flashlights and mirrors for a month and finally ended up taking it to the dealer.
Thanks for the info, after all the reading that's kind of what I'm thinking it is going to be hopefully , I'll look a little harder. I should just take it in to the dealer I still have factory Warranty. The first time I noticed it the truck had set for about a week , and the second time was about three to four days, The temps are starting to get cooler at night here so that's probably why it's starting.
Not sure if it pertains or not, but my 03 started leaking. Looked all over for and found that if I pulled lower radiator hose away from power steering box, there it was! The hose for some reason was rubbing against the box, and the shield had fallen down the hose. New hose from ford; 60$, new hose from Bond Auto; 29+8shipping. Can wait to start that project!
My 03 F30 6.0 is experiencing the same problem as Broncomans F250.

They are telling me it is a freeze plug. Is there a freeze plug near the back of the engine, pass side? Just had the Turbo replaced and Injector Oring (s) so I'm very skeptical at this point..

Don't let the steering box eat your new hose too. Cut a section out of old hose to wrap around the new hose where it comes into contact with the box. Do it right the first time by selecting the same radius from the old hose to make a nice fit over the new, then secure it with some long nylon tie-wraps... Use nylon, not plastic and it'll last and last. While you're at it, replace the top hose and flush the cooling system with distilled H2O. Beachbumcook has some great how-tos on this... Seek them out.
