Rear Wheel Hop

97 F150 4X4 ORP. Rear wheel hop is really bad, Wet, Dry, When ever. Rear wheels hop. Talked to dealer several times and He said that it could be the clutches slipping and grabbing suggested to put ford lubricant in it. I did and it didn't help. The rear end clutches have been replaced (prior) and this didn't help. There is no apparent damamge to the Leaf springs. I just was wondering if anybody had seen this before?

Rear Wheel Hop

Do they hop when your making a left or right turn?
It has to be the clutches....or the ring and pinion.

Rear Wheel Hop

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-May-02 AT 11:44 AM (EST)]Replace rear gear grease with synthetic and add the additive, it will go away. If it doesn't there is a problem with the limited slip clutches. You can't just add the additive, gotta replace the gear lube too!

Clutches were replaced because of the same problem, It didn't help. I will try the lube replacement + Additive. Need to put a new gasket on anyway. Thanks

I have to wonder about your tires. Are you running stock Goodyears, oversize, brand, etc? Clutchs locking up always give me tire squeal.
