I swapped the plugs and coils around and the misfire is still in cylinder 4. What else can i check? Can i check the injectors without any special tools?
You can usually stick a screwdriver to it and hear it clicking while running. If not, then get a noid light and check for injector pulses at the plug. They are about 10 bucks at your local autoparts astore.
If you have a multimeter, you can test ignition coils...
On a brand new, or known good coil, test the resistance through it. If there are significant variances on others then the are probably bad. I think the tolerance range is around ~.2 Ohms.
If using a multimeter, push the plug contact spring back and forth with one of the probes while testing. I had one go bad and only found it when doing the above. Sometimes the springs can corrode and appear good when they are not.
I've had some where the boots break or tear for some reason and they don't work very well after that either, probably arcs some of the spark to the engine or something... plus it allows crap to get in there and corrode stuff like he mentions above.

What is a 'noid' light? Is this a special injector tool?
