Fluid for C6

Does anyone know the difference between the Mercron IV and Mercon III and a fluid like Amsoil Synthetic to use in a 94 C6.

Have gotten conflicting reports and recommendations.
Have installed a deep pan and the large TrueCool cooler.
Van is used for occasional towing, but temperature is very hot here all the time.

Just don't want to screw up a good tranny.

I can't tell you the differences but I know manufacturers have been recommending the Mercon 4 for decades.......read the labels carefully to make sure they are compatible.....either way you'll need a friction modifier so it doesn't fry the clutches....

when i had the C6 built for my diesel, the guy that built it told me to only use valvoline max life mercon/dextron synthetic in it. it has 25k on it so far, and not a bit of problems except for the improperly adjusted vacuum regulator valve.
