i have a 1999 f350 dually power stroke and i would like to make it a srw truck can i get away with only changing the bed obviously, outer hubs and axle shafts or do i have to change the hole axle
the donor truck would be a 02-03 f350 srw
Your dually uses the D80, and the SRW truck uses the Sterling 10.50.
Im not sure if this is true for the SD's, but on the older Chebbie 1-tons with the dually 14 Bolt, you could run them with (or without...I forget) the hubs and be the same width as the SRW.

old fords were the same you could run singles on dually rear (just a little wider)but not dually wheels on single rear
are the axle shafts and the outer hubs interchangeable or do i have to change out the entire axle?

Yes it does look kinda weird,,,We actually saw a dually c-cab the other day, with just a single rear wheel/tire on the it, rear fender's sticking out,,Said to my son,,"Did you see that",,he's like ,,"What the Hell",,the truck went by us when we were stopped at a Light,,looked kinda weird ! lol
I've seen it a lot here in NJ. Guys who are running from NJ to PA and cross the bridge with no weight or trailer on the truck remove one tire from each side to save money on the bridge toll. It's a couple bucks difference each time they cross.

Down here on the New Orleans Causeway bridge cost is per axle not per tire... Kinda sucks when I cross on my motorcycle, it has two axles but half the tires of a car and it is still the same $$$...
What about the leaf spring placement over the axle? Is it in the same place DWvsSRW?? Also shock location mount... Just another thing to consider.
