Can't you just find someone with an SRW F-350 and trade?

Alot of people do that around here in the winter, cuase 1 tire per side goes better than 2 per side. If you are not hauling, there is no need for the extra tire per side.

To many to list.

I think with a lug change you can use wheels from a SRW

Was it white? Ive seen a white dually crew a few times, running just the outer wheels. I dont understand why tho, looks really strange.

Could you just replace your duals with Michelin X-one tires and rims instead?

I have actually looked into this quite a bit and almost swapped axles and beds with another member.

On the front end you just have to remove the spacers and put on regular rims.

On the rear the mounting plates are 2" wider on each side. You could remove the rear wheels and put on single but the rear tires will stick out 2"s on each side. The bed looks like crap with out the fenders on it and you would need bushwacker flares to make it look decent but there would still be holes.

If you really want to do it find a 10.5" sterling and swap them out. The steriling spring perches are within 1/8" and mount fine.

The 10.5 gets a bad rap so if you want the strength you can have the D80 shortened with new axles.

If your bed is in really good shape a used parts house will trade you for a SRW bed. These people often advertise on eBay too.

Hope this helps.

He's right on the money. mine was a dually and made it srw. just swapped boxs, aftermarket wheels, took off the front hub spacer. just a reminder the studs that the spacer bolt to are 14x2.0 not the 14x1.5 like the outside studs. you can change them or run front and back different threads. i put on chrome lugs to and on the rear had to shorten the studs they where to long for the lugnuts. o hey i put 2" spacer in front to match the axle width until can find good priced srw axle which is 1/2 per side shorter then the front. will have to space them two put alot cheaper then 2 inch spacers.

which bridge is that? I've never seen a per-tire charge anywhere around here (or ever anywhere else), only per axle charges.

why? for rain or snow? I should think a dually performs better in those conditions, just like in sand or mud, wider is better against digging, and on pavement more tires are more traction.

On pavement, yes, but on ice, no. Also, on a dually snow and ice tend to get packed in between the wheels and vibrate at highway speeds until you clear it.

not a per tire charge. a dually can hold more weight than a SRW (no matter what it actually has in it when it crosses the bridge) so the betsy ross, tacony palmyra and ben franklin all charge more for dually's and trucks registered with higher GVW's. They will even ask to see your registration sometimes. Just another reason for EZ Pass so you can avoid that mess.

[QUOTE=4wheelfurry]Down here on the New Orleans Causeway bridge cost is per axle not per tire... Kinda sucks when I cross on my motorcycle, it has two axles but half the tires of a car and it is still the same $$$...

So do a wheelie across the sensor in the road!!! LOL
