Favorite TV shows
As far as people shows go, I really like Rescue Me, though I don't know if they're doing another season or not. I don't get HBO, but I really like alot of their shows, The Sopranos was one of the best, and even though I haven't seen it, I hear Weeds is really good. When I was in Iraq, I got the series Deadwood from the PX, and I really enjoyed that. But the greatest mini-series of all is Band of Brothers.
I also like 24, and I really liked that one with Holly Hunter called Saving Grace. I haven't seen The Closer, but that one looks like it's pretty good.
I used to watch Seinfeld when it was on. Everybody Loves Raymond was good - mainly because of Peter Boyle. I like The Bill Engval Show, and I used to love Rodney, but that got yanked I guess - I think Rodney Carrington is freakin' hilarious!
When I was a kid, my favorite shows were The Gong Show, The Muppet Show, Emergency, S.W.A.T., Baretta, Starsky and Hutch, Barney Miller, All In The Family, Welcome Back Cotter, Hee Haw, Saturday Night Live (though it currently sucks big time), Fat Albert, The Munsters, Gilligan's Island, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Night Gallery, The Twilight Zone, The Electric Company, Sesame Street, just to name a few.
But I really don't watch much TV....

Also, Somebody mentioned the Ken Burns documentary The War, about WWII. Burns is, IMO, the best documentarian of all time. His historical films are second to none. One of my favorites of his is The Civil War, but the current one about WWII is absolutely amazing as well. He should get some kind of presidential award or something for the good work he has done to preserve our nation's history. I highly recommend his films to anyone, whether you like history or not, they do a great job of showing what this great country is really about, and what it means, and how fortunate we are, to be Americans.

Thank that Adult Swim for showing reruns.
I was rolling over laughing at this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSfM_Zmm_JA
But probably my all-time favorite TV show is M*A*S*H (loved the movie too) - though it got a little maudlin in the later years, the pre-COL Potter shows are some of the best TV ever produced.
I also loved pro wrestling, back when it was just a bunch of ugly, fat, beer guzzling men - like Bulldog Bob Brown, Dick the Bruiser, King Kong Brody, etc. - actually beating the crap out of each other. It was just downright good family entertainment. Now it's just a bunch of pretty boys in ladies underwear playing pattycake - though I must admit I'm rather fascinated by the girls, hmmm.....why could that be?
Saturday was the best. I would bolt to the kitchen to pour a giant bowl of the sugary goodness, then off to the TV room to get my toons on. Then, at around 10:30 or 11:00am, toons were over, so it was time to go play outside, so I'd go play army or kickball, or whatever, with the neighborhood kids. Then, a few hours later, back inside to watch a really good football game - the Steelers and the Cowboys were really big - or you could watch some of the great fighters like Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, George Forman, Sugar Ray Leonard, etc. all for free on Wide World of Sports (no pay-per-view).
But I do like the MMA stuff, UFC and PRIDE. That stuff is kicking pro boxing's butt. They teach the same moves they use in MMA to us in the Army, so I understand what they are doing, and it's educational.
Cheers!

Man law number one: Daisy Duke shorts are always in fashion. Women law number one: Daisy Duke shorts might be in fashion but women won't give men the satisfaction of seeing them in Daisy Duke shorts unless there are diamonds, yachts, and mansions involved.
Man law number two: Men rule the world
Women law number two: Men only think they rule the world, but if women want something to sway their way, they wear Daisy Duke shorts and everything changes to whatever the women want.
The Merle song you guys mentioned about the Fords and Chevys is Rainbow Stew. That "good times really over..." is the name of that song.
Not sure but I think Heather Thomas was the cute girl in Fall Guy, and Heather Locklear was the one in TJ Hooker. Could be wrong, it happens every now and then.
