I recall seeing a headlight wiring upgrade for the 99 F250 SD that would make the headlamps brighter. Does anyone recall or have that post? The lights on my early 99 are really dim, I even used the cleaner on the lens which helped. With winter coming on, I would like to install this kit. Thanks
If you have a little hand for wiring, it isn't that hard to make one. You need two relays, two fuses and some wire. What you are looking to do is beef up the circuit from the battery to the headlights. The stock wiring from the battery to the headlight switch and back to the headlights is a little weak. The relays go under the hood, with a large feed from the battery, through the fuse, to the relay, and then to the headlights. The stock wiring for the headlights now just turns on the relays. One relay runs the low beams and one relay runs the high beams.
There are some schematics in the Electrical Systems/Wiring forum
I took one off of my truck when i upgraded to the 2007 harley lights. It's sitting in the shop, along with used, but working condition 9007 Silverstars. That combined, will get you a pretty bright night view. If youre interested let me know.
