I'm am buying a Tekonsha P3 to install in my '02 X. I noticed they have an installation harness for Fords. Is this a direct plug-and-play? Where will I find the hook-up on the truck? Any other pieces of installation advice is appreciated.
We are going camping in mid October and need to have this in by then. I guess the next thread from me will be about swaybars and springs......
My took my less than 5 min. I open the door under the dash. Found the plug. That was easy because I already had a brake control in there and I just had to follow the wire there. Unplug and plug the new on in and that’s it its that easy so get the ford plug it will make it a whole lot easier you don’t have to crimp all the wires together,
Be careful of those "plug-n-play" wiring harnesses. Before I connected my Prodigy, I double-checked the function of each wire of the harness ... and it was a name brand harness, too. Sure enough! Two of the wires were in the wrong place according to the color designations provided with the instructions. I don't know if it would've fried the Prodigy unit or not.
