On mine ...only the "right" function doesn't work for either side......going to put a new switch this weekend.....I'll let you know how it turns out....
Just bought a used F150 and had the same problem. I noticed that both mirrors had the same problem - neither one would move to the right, which meant that the most likely cause was the switch. I bought one online for $19, installed it a few days later in 5 minutes and both mirrors work perfectly now.
Just got back from the local dealer ..I went to purchase the mirror switch...while in the lobby...there was a young tech that works there waiting on his parts...so I asked him about the switch removal...he stated that it's best to pry the old switch out of the small panel then to try and remove the small panel because of the age and brittleness of the plastic.....he even took it upon himself to change the switch for me right there in the parking lot....with 2 thin screwdrivers...I watched him insert the first one at the front of the switch compressing that tab....the switch then popped up on the front side...he then put the other screwdriver along the outboard side of the switch to compress that tab and out came the switch.....he made it look real easy...he even said "it's been a while since I had to do this style ".....having the new switch in hand to see where the tabs are is the key to an easy replacement...my hats off to that tech...very professional..even on a Saturday morning !!!!....mirrors work fine now....
