89 e-250 auto trans problem

i recently drained the trans fluid from my 89 e250 300-6 and refilled with mercon, right where its supposed to be on the dipstick. now when i start it up i have no reverse!! every gear wants to go forward even neutral. anybody have any ideas or did i wreck something?

When you checked the fluid level was it warmed up and idling in park?

I let it idle for about ten minutes before i checked the level.

did you change filter, seen warning some where, some filter screws wrong size/lenght, causing problems. maybe worth cking.
